Laura Lee, auch bekannt als eine Hälfte des international gefeierten Indie-Rock-Duos Gurr, tritt erneut ins Rampenlicht – diesmal als Frontfrau und Chef-Songwriterin von Laura Lee & the Jettes. Das zweite Album “Tough Love Paradigm” erscheint am 5. September, dazu spielt die Band Release-Konzerte.

Das zweite Album von Laura Lee & the Jettes ist eine mutige Weiterentwicklung. Hier trifft angegrungter Indie-Pop auf Riot-Grrrl-Attitude mit Alternative-Rock-Melancholie und großen Hooks. Cooler klingt derzeit wohl keine Band aus Deutschland. Dafür sorgen auch der lebendig detaillierte Mix von Collin Dupuis (u.a. Lana Del Rey, Angel Olsen, St. Vincent) und der britischen Underground-Legende Rhys Edwards von Ulrika Spacek.

Die ersten Singles wurden bereits erfolgreich auf Radiosendern wie KEXP, FluxFM, Radio Eins oder Deutschlandfunk Nova gespielt, stiegen in die US-College-Radio Charts ein und wurden von Medien wie VISIONS oder DIFFUS gefeiert.

Inhaltlich machen Laura Lee & The Jettes neue Felder auf: “Unsolicited Advice” zitiert ungebetene Ratschläge, die Laura als Mutter von Männern bekommen hat, “Tough Love Paradigm” behandelt Grenzerfahrungen der Liebe, die neue Single “Ordinary People” möchte in hoffnungslosen Zeiten vermitteln: “it keeps on getting better”.

Live präsentierte die Band neue Songs dieses Jahr unter anderem beim New Colossus Festival in New York City und ist Teil der offiziellen Auswahl des renommierten SXSW Festivals 2025 in Austin, Texas.
Parallel dazu bleibt Laura auch als kreative Kraft außerhalb der Band aktiv – zuletzt mit einer autobiografischen Dokumentation von Vice, sowie musikalischen Arbeiten für Theaterproduktionen wie „Meister und Margarita“ am Schauspiel Leipzig.

Mit neuer Energie, neuen Songs und einer klaren Vision beweist Laura Lee, dass sie weiterhin eine der spannendsten Stimmen der internationalen Indie-Szene ist. Zur Albumveröffentlichung spielen Laura Lee & The Jettes ein besonderes Konzert in Berlin: Die Band spielt gleich zweimal im Berliner Club LARK – Einmal tagsüber (Doors: 15.30h, Start: 16.30h), so dass auch Familien und Kinder das Konzert besuchen können, einmal am Abend zur normalen Experience (Doors: 19.30h, Start: 20.30h).
