THE GROGANS

The Grogans are three best mates from Melbourne, who play a variety of music, mainly focusing on a spacey Surf/Rock, however there are hints of gutsy blues rhythms and dirty grunge/punk driving grooves as well as even a cruisy laid-back reggae aspect to complete their sound.

The trio met through mutual friends and began jamming during high-school, forming The Grogans in 2016. They began playing friends and families parties, then released their debut EP ‘Cacteyed’ towards the end of the year, featuring ‘Pot Head Artist’.

With the release of the bands second EP ‘Twangs n’ Cans’ (2017) and the development of an engaging live show helped create opportunities to support larger touring bands passing through Melbourne, such as Northeast Party House, Dear Seattle, Drunk Mums, The Chats and Polish Club.

2018 was a great year for The Grogans, they kicked it off by heading out to Ocean Grove, where between surfing and skating, the boys recorded their third EP – ‘Grogan Grove’ with single ‘Lemon To My Lime’ being added to Triple J Unearthed rotation and was aired with Declan Byrne on Triple J.

The EP had a new mixture of sounds that hadn’t recorded in previous releases, adding spacey riff orientated jamslike the ones in ‘Abando’ right through to the mellower tracks like ‘Intentions’.
To cap off 2018, they have also recorded and released two more songs in November – these are called Washed Out and Ride. In support of this release, the trio hit the road for their first national tour stopping for 8 shows in various cities and towns along the south coast, east coast, regional VIC and also two festival slots including Melbourne’s CIVIC SOUNDS. Supporting bands like The Bennies, Regurgitator, Bec Sandridge and IV League.

2019 was the year that The Grogans released their debut album and began touring Australia more regularly, selling out shows around Melbourne – including venues like Howler, Workers Club, Yah Yah’s and Cherry Bar as well as in different Cities.
